Cliff approaching his marathon finish!

MiniZen, CLo, the Kate, Clem and MiniDuke

Hey Fits!

It was a long battle just to get to the starting line, but Shain (12 y/o) and Clem completed their first 13.1 mile run Sunday at the Chicagoland Spring half marathon, while Cliff pounded the pavement for an additional 13.1 to finish his first marathon with a time of 4:25!

The wind was howling, the record temps we enjoyed last week were mere memories and the rain needled at our faces as we watch our newest "Offical Misfits" run and run and run! MiniZen posted an impressive 2:08 finishing time and was awarded a third place in the under 18 AG just 45 seconds behind his nearest competitor who was 17 y/o. Clem crossed the finish line one minute befor Shain. We aslo cheered on Dave and his girlfriend Karen who paced the four hour marathon group looking strong throughout!

What's next for our new inductees? Clem told me during the two miles that I ran with him and MiniZen that he plans on running the Fox Valley marathon in September along with Karen and a handful of other Misfiters!

Good job Fits! Couldn't be prouder of you all!!!!!

Stan has enough energy for tire swings, only I saw what happened next!
Hey Fits!

I want to give a huge CONGRATULATIONS to Clifford Lo, aptly and lovingly dubbed C LO for completeting his longest training run to date, 23 miles on the Great Western Trail, and with a smile on his face no less! Super duper proud of him! Cliff will be running the Shaumburg Marathon (his first) on May 15th. There's gonna be a huge showing of Misfits out there supporting Cliff, MiniZen on his first half and we've recently learned Amy Grady-Allington will also be running the half! Listen for those cow bells y'all!

Peace out!

MiniZen runs a long ways

Fits!

Guess what! MiniZen, aka Shain Wade ran 10.5 miles today at a pace of 9:35 min. mile! Can you believe it? He's such a stud! AND HE'S ONLY 12 years old!!!!!!!!!! Then he was able to run around like a mad man and search high and low for hidden Reese's filled Easter eggs. A boy will do anything for candy!

Follow his progress in the comming weeks to full MISFIT STATUS as he calls it, preparing to run his first half marathon on May 15th in Shaumburg. All are encouraged to come out and ring bells in support of our youngster.

BTW another Misfit will be running his first full marathon the same day same race, go CLIFFORD!

Peace Out,
Special K

Boston . . . check!

Hey Fits!

Check out our Boston pics! We had a blast! The weekend and the race surpassed my expectations! I can't speak highly enough about the organization, the volunteers and how truly AWESOME this race was! If it's on your bucket list, hurry up and check it off. You won't regret it!

We both raced well. Al finished in a respectable 3:14:57 and Kristen PR'd with a 3:24:08, not too shabby since I shaved 13 minutes off my previsous best and Boston proved to be a hilly course!

Remember to run happy! Stay tuned for race photos......

Group run and ride

Great Western Trail
Hi Fits!

Planning a 10-12 mile run Friday, 9 a.m. along the Great Western Trail. Meet at the parking lot on Peplow on Rt. 64 just west of Merideth Rd. The parking lot will be basecamp so we will do a couple out and backs so you won't be forced to carry water, gu etc . . . Plus if you'd rather shorten your run you will have the option to do so. So far have five running lets make it a bigger group, it'll be fun!

Saturday we will hold another indoor group ride at 10 a.m. 515 E. Lee St., Plano. We have two spinners so txt or call or email me with your interest if you need a spinner. Karen, you have dibs on the extra trainer if you're in...let me know if you can't make it and it'll be available for someone else. Everyone, plan on about an hour bike. Bring water and a towel. I'll lead a yoga after if interested, bring a mat.

Hope to see some new faces out there!!!!!

Run Happily,

Special K
